Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum order?
You can order from 10 pieces of Embroidered and 3D Embroidered Patches. Larger quantities lower the price per patch.
How is my price worked out?
The price comes from the average of the width and height you enter, rounded up to the next half inch, and the quantity you order.
Which backings can I choose?
You can choose plain backing, Pellon backing, iron-on backing, tape backing, Single Velcro (hook side), Double Velcro (hook and loop), safety pin backing or key chain. Plain backing is included. Any extra cost for the others shows when you select them.
Which backing holds best?
Sewing it on is the most secure option and lasts through regular washing. Velcro is best if you want to remove or swap it. Iron-on is quick for cotton and polyester, but avoid it on nylon, leather and waterproof fabrics.
Which shapes and sizes can I order?
Sizes from 2″ to 12″. You can pick from 39 shapes, or choose Custom shape to have it cut to the outline of your artwork.
What are the patches made from?
Your design is made on a base fabric. You can choose standard twill, flannelette or nylon when you order.
Can I choose the colours?
Yes. We match the colours to your artwork. You can also pick the border colour from our thread chart, or choose Same as my artwork. If you have Pantone (PMS) colours, add them in the instructions box.
Are there any design limits?
Most designs can be stitched. Very small text and thin lines are hard to stitch on patches under 3 inches, so we may thicken or simplify them. Any change is shown on your proof before production starts.
Which artwork files can I send?
Vector files (AI, EPS, PDF) reproduce best. High resolution PNG or JPG files also work.
What if my artwork is not ready yet?
Choose Email later and send your artwork after you order, or choose Get design help and tell us your idea. Production only starts once you approve the artwork.
Do I see a proof first?
Yes. A digital proof is sent for you to check before production starts.
Can I see a real sample before production?
Yes. You can ask for a photo of your actual item before we make the full order. The extra cost is shown next to the option.
What extras can I add?
You can add an individual polybag for each piece or a button loop on the border.
How long does production take?
You choose this at the last step. The standard option is ready to ship in 12 working days at no extra cost. Faster options from 5 working days cost more, and a slower option costs less. The date shown is when your order is ready to ship, not when it arrives.
How much is delivery?
Delivery is free to UK addresses.
How do I care for my patches?
Wash inside out on a cool cycle and avoid tumble drying. If an edge lifts, a few stitches around the edge will hold it in place.
What are embroidered and 3D embroidered patches?
They mix flat embroidery with raised 3D puff embroidery, so chosen parts of your design stand out with extra depth.
Which parts of my design can be raised?
Usually bold text and main shapes are raised. Our team will suggest the best areas when preparing your proof.
Which thread options are available?
Standard, glow in the dark, metallic gold, metallic silver or full metallic thread.
